Bellingham Bay Swim Team is proud to host the 5th annual Aly Fell Memorial Open Water Swim on Saturday August 25, 2018. Swim 10k, 5k, 2.5k or 800m in picturesque Lake Padden, located in Whatcom County near Bellingham, Washington. Masters swimmers may enter wetsuit or non-wetsuit events, and USA swimmers may enter non-wetsuit events. Come join us in August, you’ll be glad you did!

Race Information

The Aly Fell Memorial includes 6 events for master swimmers: 2.5k, 5k and 10k wetsuit, 2,5k, 5k, and 10k non-wetsuit, and 4 events for USA swimmers: 2.5k, 5k, 10k and 800 meters. Coaches should enter swimmers based on age and experience.  Swimmers who cannot finish 2.5k in 50 minutes, may not enter the 5k or 10k events. Entry includes one event, swim cap, race souvenir and post race refreshments.

Lake Padden is owned by the City of Bellingham, and is a Bellingham City Park. Lake Padden is a non-gasoline motor lake, has a great trail system, several fishing areas and great open spaces on the shore for family and group activities.


Results/Records Awards

Awards will be awarded to the top three finishers for each event, in each swim age group. US Masters age groups are as follows: 18 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, and additional years with 5 year increments. USA Swimming age groups are: 10 & under, 11 – 12, 13 – 14, 15 & over.  Event results will be available on this website within a few days after the conclusion of the event.
